October
October is probably the best month of the year to visit Japan. The weather
is usually warm, but not too muggy and the September Typhoons have usually
passed. Because of this many towns and villages take the chance to celebrate
their local festivals, which are often amazing spectacles involving groups
of people parading round portable shrines or local specialities such as
horse racing. They are really World class events, such as these two from
Ehime prefecture.
