Hello,
I must say that compared to Asia, being over in Europe it does feel un-Christmassy
in November. But I have a feeling that's going to change in the next couple
of weeks, so to get you in the mood....
1. Game of the Month: What's left?
This is a simple little game you can use with any topic, so let's try it
with the What would you like for Christmas? theme.
1. Give each child a sheet of mini cards for the theme. (The black &
white ones are obviously cheaper if you have budget constraints).
2. The kids cut out their cards and hold them in their hand so their friends
can't see.
3. Everyone shouts out today's question. For example today it's What would you like for Christmas?.
4. The teacher shouts out any answer e.g. a robot.
5. Without letting their friends see, and without making any noise, each
child has to put this card away, under their desk or on the floor or somewhere
out of the way.
6. Repeat from step 3 until there is only one card left.
7. Then you shout out "What's left?".
8. Everyone holds up the final card they are holding and shouts it out.
9. If everything has gone well hopefully everyone will have the correct
final card and a big smile.
10. If they don't, it's time to review the lesson and try again!
There you go, a very simple game to end the lesson on. Just one tip, make
sure you also play along by putting away each card as you say it yourself,
otherwise you might end up saying the same card twice. Needless to say,
the forced silence (and hence suppressed laughter) as the kids put away
the cards is what makes it fun to play.

2. "Drinks" & "Brothers & Sisters" Printable
Picture Books.
I also have two new Picture Books for you, one for teaching CD3's "What
would you like?" and some drinks, and another for CD7's "Do you
have any brothers or sisters?". They've both got a funny punchline
ending and some "interesting" pictures to get a very nice reaction
from the kids!
As usual the narrated versions are online for students to enjoy at home
and CD Owners Club members can download the pdf versions for use in class.

3. Numbers 13-20 Song Online
Many songs offer the numbers 1-12, but a big request has been for a
song to learn the numbers 13 to 20. So here it is!
It's now online for anyone to listen to, the idea being your students can
watch it online at home. The song seemed a little short during the testing,
so for future review lessons there is also a version that goes right up
to 32. That's the one that is online.
Give it a try and see what you think.

4. Christmas Presents for You
You've been amazing in your support to Genki English this year and I wanted
to give something back. So we're introducing a Christmas Special offer
for
CD Owners Club members. If you order a total of 100 Genki English CDs or more for your students
before Christmas (they're great as Christmas presents!), instead of 4,200
yen or even 1,980 yen, each CD will now only be
1,000 yen. That's around 7 Euros or $9 i.e. over 3,000 yen off.
It's a great way to get your students practising English at home and for
the parents to see how well you are teaching their little angels. 100 CDs
sounds like a lot, but if you ask the parents the numbers very soon fill
up.
The offer is on until Christmas Day, but you'll want to get your order
in earlier for Christmas delivery. Prices go back to normal after Christmas.
