Here are the lesson plans and worksheets very kindly sent in by ALT Jeff...

Hey everyone. Please remember that I work at a low level senior high school and, for the most part and have found these lessons to be n+1 or 2 for my students. I've also included every worksheet and even the final exam. If you have any questions please feel free to email me at any time, especially if you'd like more specific explanations on some of the activities I do.


The worksheets we've saved as the original Microsoft Word files. That way you can right click on them, save them to your machine and edit them to suit your class.

Winter Term

Week #1: Welcome Back (Lesson # 11 in Select)

   Goals: To learn some colloquial phrases and phone conversations.

   Materials:

1.      Dialogue worksheets

2.      Vocab and Key Expression worksheets

 

   Prep Class Requests:

1.      Please practice the proper vocabulary, grammar and dialogue.

RollALT will call attendance and ask for the date, time, and weather.

Changing Seats – Students will change seats for the month of January.

Editing (Hello and Bye Bye and Key Expressions) – ALT will ask students if they know other ways to say `hello` and `bye bye.` If students do not offer any suggestions, ALT will write them. ALT will also do some `repeat after me` work.

English ConversationJTEs will ask students to stand up and practice the different ways to say `Hello` and `Goodbye.` ALT will demonstrate with a student what to do.

Editing (Key Expressions) –ALT will ask students to edit the key expressions found on page 69 of Select. ALT will also do some `repeat after me` work. JTE will double check the meanings and then ALT will do a conversation with the class using the Key Expressions.

English ConversationALT will ask students to practice the key expressions with each other and demonstrate with a student.

Editing (Vocabulary) – ALT will review the pronunciation of the vocabulary and help revise it to a more colloquial stand point. JTE will please help double check that students understand the meanings.

Week #2: Are you free? (Lesson #12 in Select)

   Goals: For students to be able to plan their free time.

   Materials:

1.      Key Expressions worksheet

2.      Greetings Review worksheet

3.      Dialogue worksheet

 

   Prep Class Requests:

1.      Please review the previous lesson.

2.      Please feel free to finish the worksheets from the previous lesson.

3.      Please teach them the correct, textbook, use of key phrases and dialogue.

RollALT will call for attendance and the date, time, and weather.

ReviewJTE and ALT will review the greetings that we learned last week. Students will be asked to write as many as they can remember. ALT will fill in the ones left out.

Key Expressions (Edit) – ALT will edit the key expressions and review with JTE. Students will participate with half the class being Mr. A and the other being Mr. B. Understanding will be checked.

English ConversationJTE will ask students to stand up and practice the new key expressions combined with the greetings from last week.

Dialogue (Edit) – ALT will edit the conversation on page 82 of Select and teach students a more colloquial way of saying it. In addition ALT will divide the dialogue in two.

Face to FaceJTE will ask students to sit face to face in two rows. ALT will write on the board a theme and a date and time. JTE will ask students to remember their greetings from last week and to speak in English as best they can about making a plan about the theme. ALT will ask students to each move to the right one seat and a new theme date and time will be written. Repeat.

ITITHow are you?ALT will teach students different ways to say `How are you?` and the appropriate responses to it.
