A decorated department store in Fukuoka

December

Along with many other countries once December arrives Japan's shops are already decorated out with massive Christmas decorations and amazing light displays. The big day however is Christmas Eve, the day for dating couples, and come Christmas Day all the decorations are taken down in favour of New Year Decorations.

Even stranger yet ( depending on where you come from), unless it's a weekend, kids go to school on Christmas day. It's just a normal school day and for most kids Santa doesn't arrive to bring them any presents!
